Our approach

By the public.
For the public.

A place to understand protests through people’s accounts, source links, and open discussion. Starting with India.

Every account can be challenged.

People contribute what they saw, share where a claim comes from, and add another perspective. Contradictory context stays beside the original account.

Votes and sources tell different stories.

Votes show what people find useful. Sources show what has been attached for others to read. Popularity does not establish whether a claim is true.

The public forms its own judgment.

There are no AI features and no founder fact-checking. Public contributions, discussion, sources, and challenges help readers reach their own conclusions.

Protect people’s privacy.

Keep other people’s private details, identifiable faces and precise live locations out. You can choose to add your own name or social profile if you want to be contacted. Platform moderation addresses spam, abuse, privacy, copyright and applicable legal obligations. Public discussion and context help readers form their own view of an account.

Your words remain your words.

Community accounts are published without rewriting. Posts are anonymous by default, with an optional self-reported name and profile. Launch source reports are labelled as added by protests.fyi and link to the original publication.

Your votes stay yours.

You can change or remove your vote in the same browser for up to 30 days. Clearing cookies loses that connection. Voting does not establish how many individual people agree. Browser checks help limit spam; see our privacy notice for how information is used.
